LARGE WETROOM/BATHROOM CASE STUDY
Designer: Carina Rolfe
Installer: John Mahoney
Products Used: Unislope wetroom former and drain, Roper Rhodes units, Mereway
worktops, Porcelanosa tiles
sanitaryware and Vado
Project Cost: £24,000
The Brief: The client wanted to have a mixture of traditional and modern. Classic brassware with modern tiles
to tie in with the rest of the house.
A lovely large space for the installer to work with. We had to block off the door from the bedroom to create some more wall space within the bathroom for the new layout.
After a week on site John did encounter a slight problem, there wasn't any way of getting the wet floor drain floor level. After a brief discussion with the client, they were happy with the idea of raising the shower area so there would be a slight step up this didn't affect the design of the bathroom.
The client also wanted a feature tile, not mosaics or anything too drastic, just a classic break between the matching plain wall and floor tiles. The stripped Porcelanosa tiles works brilliantly. Breaking the shower area up from the rest of the room and your eye being drawn to the black feature around the room. With the use of traditional sanitaryware, a modern wet floor, classic brassware and unique tiles, the overall look of the bathroom in Basingstoke works well, and the client was extremely happy.
