Carina and Mark were invited to visit the Bette factory in Germany. Located just outside Delbrück, the Bette factory also offers a huge showroom where you can see their full range of baths, basins and shower trays.
Bette is a German, family-run company who have been producing premium architectural bathroom components from steel-titanium alloy, enamelled with purely natural materials since 1952. All their products are 100% recyclable and exclusively "Made in Germany" on site in Delbrück.
The factory is full of high-tech machinery, all custom-built based upon Bette's own designs and all there with the sole purpose of producing a vast number of very high-quality titanium-steel products for the bathroom industry.
We were led through a maze of production lines and equipment from the raw steel sheets through to enamelling, colouring, quality control and finally packaging and branding.
The process of creating one of Bette's baths is simple but very effective. Using one of their custom-made steel moulds they press the 2.4mm thick titanium-steel sheets before being enamel coated and shipped out to customers.
Bette take pride in the titanium-steel alloy material they use, which allows for a thinner enamel coat in a very smooth finish, eliminating the orange-peel effect that can be seen on rival products. We were shown how the glossy surfaces of BetteGlaze® on the shower trays and baths are harder than marble, plastic or steel, non-porous and resistant to abrasion and UV rays which makes their shower trays and baths almost impossible to damage - markers, nail polishes and even fire won't do any harm.
Bette also offer numerous special pieces including custom sizes, shapes and tap-hole positions, making it the largest and most flexible bath range on the market. The trip was incredibly interesting and offered a great insight into one of Germany's largest bath manufactures.
Bubbles Bathrooms and Tiles would like to thank Bette and everyone involved in a fantastic trip.
